     The PARACLETE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY is non-stock, non-profit, non-sectarian Christian School.  PCA is an Education Ministry of Magdadasig Christian Fellowship Inc., at Gerardo Roa Street, Poblacion, Salay, Misamis Oriental.  The word Paraclete comes from the Greek word Paracletus for the Holy Spirit promised by Jesus Christ to His disciple on the Gospel according to John 16:7, 13.  The same word implies for the Cebuano term Magdadasig, which is illustrated in the Holy Bible as the Comforter.

Paraclete Christian Academy (PCA)

  - Is non-stock, non-profit, non-sectarian Christian School at Salay, Misamis Oriental.  It is an education ministry of Magdadasig Christian Fellowship with its Main Center in the said place.

 

1997

  - The year when PCA started its operation, by virtue of DECS Permit No. 001, 1996.  The said permit empowers all AsCEP (Association of Christian Educators of the Philippines) Church Schools to offer Pre-Elementary, Elementary and Secondary courses.

 

The Open Bible

  - As a Christian School the Holy Bible is the light and guide for its undertaking.  “Everyone shall know the truth, and the truth will make him free.”

  - As a tongue of fire, each student is empowered for service for the good of his family and global community; as a dove (paracletus), it helps and encourages everyone to attain his dream rightly.

  - A sign for never ending search for knowledge and truth for each graduate.  The PCA is committed for its continuous quests for excellence.

  - Speaks for the mission to reach – out for service.  The bulging rim, conditions everyone for some unpleasant circumstances to hurdle in reaching others.

HISTORY

 

     The Paraclete Christian Academy (PCA) started its operation as a Ministry of the Magdadasig Christian Fellowship (MCF) in the school year 1997-98 with five (5) pupils in the kindergarten class.

     The word Paraclete (from the Greek word Paracletus for the Holy Spirit) was promised by Jesus Christ to His disciples in the Gospel according to John 16:7, 13. The same word implies for the Cebuano term Magdadasig, which is illustrated in the Holy Bible as the Comforter.

     As an Education Ministry of the Magdadasig Christian Fellowship Inc., the school operated under the umbrella of the Association of Christian Educators of the Philippines (AsCEP). All AsCEP Church Schools are Elementary and Secondary levels through DECS Permit No.001, s.1996,

     The accreditation of PCA to the AsCEP was made through the efforts of Rev. Timothy L. Yap, the acknowledged leader of AsCEP of Region X, Dr. Yap is the Director of Northern Mindanao Christian Academy (NMCA) based at Apovel, Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City.

     The signing was done in Manila Hotel, Metro Manila on June 4, 1997 by Dr. Ricardo T. Gloria.

     The first classes in Preschool were housed inside a semi-permanent building(see pic. above) owned by the PCA founders, Rev. & Mrs. Demosthenes N. Agocoy Sr., at the present site along the Gerardo Roa Street, Purok 8, Poblacion, Salay, Misamis Oriental. The said building which was renovated in 2002 was also used, for sometimes as fellowship center of MCF. The fellowship center was then transferred to another place in 1998 as advised by the DepEd Region X functionaries.

     There are two (2) regular classes in Preschool, Kinder 1 (4-5 years old) and Kinder 2 (5-6 years old), Special Nursery class (3 – 4 years old) is offered from time to time when there are enrollees for said level, DepEd Recognition for Preschool #470_ was given on February 7, 2007.

     The Elementary Department of PCA started in the school year 1999 – 2000, offering Grades I – IV. In the next school year 2000 – 2001, Grade V was added, and it was in this year that the building was constructed and readied for recognition purposes. And by School Year 2001 – 2002, the elementary grades was completed with four pupils in Grade VI, thus the DepEd Recognition #226 was processed and signed on March 10 and given on march 14, 2002, just in time for the 1st graduation exercises. 

     The High School Department was opened in the school year 2004 – 2005, with one student at the start of classes. In the second week, another student in first year was added. And in the third week of classes, three students from Bukidnon came. The final enrolment for High School in its initial year was 4 in first year and 2 in second year.

     In the succeeding school year 2005 – 2006, the school offered its third year with five (5) students.

     The fourth year class was formally opened in SY 2007 – 2008 with ten (10) students. Prior to the opening of classes, DepEd Recognition No. 03_ for high school was processed.

     The school has three (3) separate buildings for the three departments offered. The original building which is reconstructed into 2 – storey semi-permanent structure is now solely used for high school. The Preschool building is developed near the entrance and the Elementary is situated at the north side.

     Paraclete Christian Academy is duly registered with the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock, non-profit educational institution in 1998.
